Oakes, Marcella - watercolor, good condition, 8x10
Reflection of Birch trees is signed "Marcella Oakes" lower right, is in good condition and measures 8x10. Marcella Oakes, 85, Salina, Kansas, died Thursday, June 14, 2007. Mrs. Oakes was born Marcella Dowling on Nov. 10, 1921, in Salina to Charles and Anna Schmedemann Dowling. She was a retired bookkeeper for Ballou Construction and a freelance artist with over 900 works sold throughout the United States. She attended the Art Institute of Chicago, where she lived for 30 years. She married William Robert Oakes in Salina on June 18, 1946.
