A Gilt Bronze Figure Amitayus Sino Tibetan Chinese Seated Buddha 19th c. Measures approx. 5" X 3". Please note that there are some gems missing, please see pics. Signature is hard to see. From the consignor: My childhood was rich in culture, filled with art, education, and interactions with people from diverse backgrounds. My father was an Episcopal priest, which allowed me to connect with individuals from around the world who visited often. Meeting, listening to, and learning from many of my father's colleagues and friends greatly enriched my upbringing. I was also fortunate to have a close relationship with my maternal grandfather, who lived in Washington, D.C. During my many visits with him, I was exposed to history museums and the Smithsonian. As a young teenager, I often ventured to these places by myself. My career as an artist and jazz musician has allowed me to continue my passion for history and culture, particularly through my collection and dealing in ethnographic, religious, and tribal collectibles and antiques from around the globe. Additionally, I have leased some of my unique collections to the Sheena and Mortal Kombat television series. Now that I am approaching retirement, I believe my collectibles and treasures should be appreciated by someone who is eager to learn about the cultures I have come to value.
