NASA Apollo 13 Flown Kapton Mylar Foil
Two fragments of Kapton Mylar foil flown during the Apollo 13 mission. Kapton foil was used to provide thermal protection for the spacecraft returning to Earth and was easily removed. These pieces were in the possession of NASA employee Bill Whipkey.
Shorter strip; length: 3 in x width: 2 in. Longer strip; length: 6 3/4 in x width: 1 in.
