2 Brass Japanese Table Clocks Poss. Makura Dokei
Group of two Japanese brass table or pillow clocks, likely Makura Dokei. Each hour marked along the dial. With ornate scrolling leaves etched throughout the front and back of the clock. One clock lacking the top bell cover. The larger clock with a key.
Big; height: 3 1/4 in x width: 5 in x depth: 2 1/2 in. Small; height: 2 1/2 in x width: 3 1/2 in x depth: 2 in.
Condition: The clocks are in fair condition overall with no major losses, dents, or restoration when inspected under UV light. As expected from age and use, both clocks show wear and oxidation throughout; wear to the underside. The small clock does not retain its original movement key. The big clock retains its original movement key; however, it does not wind. Therefore, we have been unable to determine if the movement runs and keeps time. Please contact us for a detailed condition report. Please note that the lack of a condition statement does not imply perfect condition. Email condition@revereauctions.com with any condition questions.
