The very first edition of Sefer HaChinuch, printed by Daniel Bomberg in Venice in 1523. Sefer HaChinuch is one of the most fundamental works and is highly sought after by collectors.
A complete copy. Title page has undergone restoration (with some loss to text on verso), large dark stains on several initial leaves. Worming, sometimes affecting text. 2 final leaves partly restored in facsimile.
This work is exceptionally rare and is hard to find complete. A fine complete copy sold at Sotheby's for over $20,000.
Bound in a new leather binding.
