Midrash Hamechilta – Bomberg Edition, Venice 1545. The Eiger Family Copy
The Mechilta is the Halachic Midrash on Seder Shemos, and first appeared in print in Constantinople, 1515.
A pedigreed copy, which had belonged to members of the Eiger family, and quite possibly R. Akiva Eiger himself.
The flyleaf bears many inscriptions attesting that this copy belongs to R. David Matersdorf (Eiger), as well as an additional inscription by R. Simcha Bunim Gins (Eiger), younger brother and companion of R. Akiva Eiger.
Minor repairs to title page, without loss to text. Light stains, margins trimmed, with no loss to text.
