Siddur Safah Berurah, Rödelheim 1822. An Early Edition of The Famed Rödelheim Siddur
Siddur Safah Berurah, printed and edited by R. Wolf Heidenheim, Rödelheim 1822.
This Siddur, as well as the Machzorim, were met with high acclaim in Western Europe, and were likely the most popular prayer books in use during the 19th and 20th centuries.
Most famously, the Chasam Sofer was very fond of Heidenheim’s works, and he personally used his Machzorim, which are currently in possession of his descendants till this day.
This edition features the announcement made in the name of R. Pinchas Halevi Horowitz – The Hafla’ah, by his son R. Tzvi Hirsch, regarding the printing of the work.
Ownership stamp of A. Heinemann seen on title page.
In overall good condition. Open tears to pp. 217-220, with minor loss to text.
