"FLYING HORSE OF GANSU" BRONZE IN SHADOWBOX
A stunning Chinese bronze "Flying Horse of Gansu" statue, housed in a decorative framed shadowbox that is ready to hang. Measures in frame, 23.5'' H x 23'' W. Some minor damage to the frame shown in photos. Enjoy this item in the shadowbox or remove it and display the bronze! These "celestial horses" were highly prized as marks of status. Although scholars pointed out that the bird was not in fact a swallow, the piece was exhibited in many countries in the 1970s as "Galloping Horse Treading on a Flying Swallow".
