JAPANESE PIPE HOLDER "KISERU" & AFRICAN SLINGSHOT SCULPTURE
A Japanese pipe holder & an African slingshot sculpture. The pipe holder was most likely for Opium. Kiseru (煙管) is a Japanese word that refers to a traditional smoking pipe. It is used to smoke finely shredded tobacco called kizami. African slingshot sculptures are hand-carved wooden figures that are often associated with the Baule carving culture of Ivory Coast. They are figurative objects that can depict heads or bodies. The tallest measures 8'' H.
