Italian Embossed Steel Breastplate, 16th c. Negroli Style
Fine Italian embossed steel breastplate in the style of the famous Renaissance armourer Filippo Negroli. The face with an intricately embossed scene of battle with armored knights storming a castle and two on horseback in conflict to the center. The reverse with remnants of an old wax museum seal often used when such an embossed piece was done after the original in study. Size 21 1/2" H x 15 1/4" W
Condition: cracks, holes and losses to scene as shown in images
