Asante Chief's Royal Prestige Bracelet
West Africa, Ghana and Cote d'Ivoire, Akan Kingdom and later Ashanti peoples 19th - 20th century with this example probably early to mid 20th century heavy gilded brass prestige bracelet in two-piece hinged construction with a large chameleon and decorative ceremonial features. Acid tested probably brass, (323grams). For Similar Examples see page 159, of "Gold of The Akan from the Glassell Collection" published 2002 with The Museum of Fine Arts Houston.
