South Indian "Saraswati" Carved Wood Panel, 18th C. or Earlier
South India, Hindu carved sandalwood relief, 18th century or earlier. Depicting a Hindu deity with four arms and a peacock to the background. Probably the goddess Saraswati of knowledge, music, and the arts. The dense fine grain wood is carved in mid to high relief. Size 19 1/2" H x 7 1/2" L x 3 3/4" W
Condition: Good with wear to finish and surface commensurate with age and use.
