Louis Comfort Tiffany Gold Favrile spirally ribbed iridescent art glass candlestick vase. Signed at the bottom. Height: 7 1/2" Condition: Good with no issues seen. Developed by Louis Comfort Tiffany (1848-1933), Favrile glass is an iridescent art glass that was used to make a variety of decorative objects and architectural glass installations at the turn of the 20th century. The name "Favrile" derives its origins from the Old English word for �handmadeï¿&frac1 2;, "Frabrile" The technique of embedding coloring within the glass itself, resulting in the distinctive hues Favrile glass is known for, sets it apart from other types of iridescent glass.
