A STEEL CEREMONIAL PERSIAN MACE, QAJAR, 19TH C.
"A Qajar period steel ceremonial mace with a silver (as Farsi inscriptions on the top) and copper inlay. The ox-headed mace is associated with the heroes of the Shahnama (Book of Kings). The mace reproduces the hero Bahram Gur’s weapon made in memory of the cow that nursed him."
