Letter handwritten and signed by Rabbi David Baharan to the Board of the committee of Meah She'arim in which he asks for help to cover the expenses of his granddaughter's wedding, most likely from the 1940s.
In the letter, Rabbi David writes: "I appeal to you since my granddaughter, the daughter of my Tzaddik son Rabbi Shlomo Zalman of blessed memory has become engaged …I ask you to consider the financial situation of the widowed mother of the bride and support the family, which were one of the founders of the neighborhood and its builders and help them cover the expenses of the wedding ..."
Rabbi David Baharan (1865-1946) was one of the greatest rabbis of Jerusalem, the youngest child of Rabbi Nachum of Szadek an dthe brother of Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Baharan. He was one of the students of the Maharil Diskin, a kabbalist and Talmid Chacham.
