First Chassidic Haggadah!
Haggadah shel Pesach with Chelkas Binyamin Commentary by the Maggid of Zolzitz. Lvov, 1794
Passover Haggadah complete with intentions (Kavanos) of the Arizal and kabbalistic commentary by the Chassidic master Harav Binyamin of Zolzitz, author of Turei Zahav and other sefarim. Rabbi Binyamin of Zolzitz (who passed away in 1794), was among the greatest early Chassidic sages whose prolific writings frequently cite the Baal Shem Tov, Maggid of Mezritch and other Chassidic masters. The Maggid of Zolzitz’s writings are one of the original sources of the teachings of the Baal Shem Tov and his disciples.
In this Haggadah, the Maggid of Zolzitz cites wondrous lessons by the Baal Shem Tov and Maggid of Mezritch which are not found in any other sefer (see both columns in leaf 13a). His legacy includes Turei Zahav, Ahavas Dodim, Amtachas Binyamin and Chelkas Binyamin.
In the title page of this sought-after Haggadah, the author writes,
“We copied the Haggadah with the intentions [of the Arizal] from the Arizal’s Siddur” (Zolkova, 1781).
Lvov, 1794. First edition. [1], 25, [13] leaves. Page size: 20 cm. Several pages with header text partially missing. stains.

The Endorsement of Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev
5 Nissan, 1793
“When I visited the sacred kehillah of Lvov, I was visited by…the son of the tzaddik and scion of holy men Moreinu Harav Binyamin…and I saw his sweet words on the Revealed and Hidden Torah, all of which are equal in their perfection… They are worthy to be published…in order to return many from the path of sin…”
