Soviet, Russian artist-painter, teacher. Academician of the Academy of Arts of the USSR. People's Artist of the USSR. Laureate of the State Prize of the USSR, the State Prize of the RSFSR named after I. E. Repin and the Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation. In collaboration with their brother Sergei Tkachev, they created a huge number of works that were included in the "golden" fund of Russian painting. The artist's works are in the collections of the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, dozens of regional and republican galleries, as well as in private collections in Belgium, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Canada, China, the Netherlands, USA, Taiwan, France, South Korea, Japan.
