Aderet Eliyahu. Leghorn, [1855]. Author's Handwritten Supplements
Aderet Eliyahu regarding the origins of the Zohar by Rabbi Shlomo b"r Nissim. Leghorn, [1855]. First edition. Author's handwritten supplements.
47, [2]pages. 18.5 cm. Errata printed on different type of paper.
Book attacks those who question the origins of the Zohar. The author wrote two supplements in his hand and signed them 'the author'. These supplements were not included in the second edition that was printed in Vilna 1885. The author, Rabbi Shlomo Nissim (1781-1864), was an Italian sage who lived in the early 19th century. He was known for his vigorous defense of the second day of the holidays observed by people living outside of Eretz Yisrael ["yom tov sheini shel galuyos"].
New binding. White paper. Minimal stains. Fine-very fine condition.
