Korban Netanel. Karlsruhe. [1755]. Important Annotations
Korban Netanel. Commentary on the Piskei HaRosh on Seder Moed and Nashim by Rabbi Yaakov Weil. Karlsruhe, 1755. First edition. Important, scholarly annotations.
[2], 148, [3]leaves. 31.5 cm. Magnificent title page with an illustration of a bird – for the name of the author's wife's– Faigele, which means bird in Yiddish.
The author, Rabbi Yaakov Weil (1687-1769) was the rabbi of German Jews and a prominent scholar in his generation. A few owner signatures of רבי בנימין בירש מששערווייליר and רבי נתן פל (?). Lengthy, scholarly annotations in the book itself, in an early Ashkenazic hand (apparently from the era of the author), some strongly disagree with the writer's words. (A copy of the comments is included).
New binding. Worming holes. Overall moderate-fine condition.
