Sefer HaTehilim. Jerusalem, [1911] Personal Copy of Kabalist Rabbi Ovadya Hadaya, author of 'Yaskil Avdi'
Book of Psalms with kabalistic kavanot, the prayers of the Chida and the Ben Ish Chai. Jerusalem, [1911]. 123 leaves. 15 cm. Title page in purple ink.
Rabbi Ovadya Hadaya's signature appears on the title page. On the title page verso, he arranged a list of days when it is preferable not to begin a project, not to get married, not to sanctify - according to the Arizal. Another leaf bears a list of people whose names he mentioned while praying.
Rabbi Ovadya Hadaya (1890-1979) was a remarkable mix of halachic posek and kabalist. He served as Rosh Yeshivat HaMekubalim in Jerusalem at the same time that he was a member of the Beit Din HaRabbani HaGadol. He is primarily known for his 8-volume, "Yaskil Avdi" responsa.
There is much historical and emotional value to this kabalistic book of Psalms that was used by a great Kabalist as he poured out his heart to his Creator.
Loose, used binding. A number of loose leaves. The leaves are well-used and faded. Moderate condition.
