Signatures of two leading Hungarian rabbinic figures on one book.
The following ownership inscription appears on the fly-leaf: ‘Hakatan Simcha Bunem Guens of Eisenstadt’ (a brother of Rabbi Akiva Eiger), followed by another inscription by one of his students: ‘I too, his student Yosef HaCohen confirm that this book belongs to my master the gaon Rabbi Bunem Guens, Av Beth Din of Mattersdorf’.
The title page contains several signatures of Rabbi Chaim Tzvi Mannheimer, Av Beth Din Ungvar. ‘magein hu lechol hachosem bo hakatan Chaim Tzvi Hirsh’ and ‘hakatan Chaim Tzvi Hirsh’.

Rabbi Chaim Tzvi Hirsh Mannheimer (1814-1886), recognised as a child prodigy, and studied under Rabbi Yaakov Koppel Charif and Rabbi Binyamin Wolf Low of Vrbove, before proceeding to become a close disciple of the Chassam Sofer.
