GEROME JEAN-LEON: (1824-1904) French painter and sculptor. A.L.S., J L Gerome, one page, small 8vo, Paris, 4th February 1883, to a lady ('Tres belle Madame'), in French. Gerome writes with pleasure to accept his correspondent's dinner invitation for next Wednesday and regrets not to have been at home to have greeted her. With blank integral leaf (small area of paper loss to one corner and slight traces of former mounting to the verso). About VG
