Five Postcards – Theodor Herzl
Five postcards depicting Theodor Herzl's portrait, or printed in his memory. Various publishers, places and times of printing, [ca. 1904 to 1944].
Including: * Memorial postcard printed in Eastern Europe, close to Herzl's death (undivided). * A postcard that was printed to mark the 40th anniversary of his death, issued by the Zionist Movement in Shanghai - Jewish Publication (Josef Stein), Shanghai, [1944]. * Postcard with an illustration of Theodor Herzl looking at the Port of Haifa, by Meir Gur-Aryeh. * Additional postcards.
Size and condition vary. Two of the postcards are blank on their verso. Stains. A dark stain on the postcard from Shanghai. One of the postcards was sent by mail. Stamp and postmark on verso of one of the postcards.
