"Cherut" Journal – The Revisionist Movement – 22 issues, 1943-1947
"Cherut, free Journal" (Hebrew). 22 issues of the journal of the Revisionist movement, printed during the British mandate. November 1943 to November 1947.
Issues 23, 25, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 33, 36, 37, 39, 46, 47, 48, 49, 50, 51, 52, 53, 68, 72, 81.
The journal was established by the Irgun in March 1942 and was used to spread the messages of the Revisionist Movement during World War II, its end and the struggle against the British authorities for a Jewish state. The issues contain plenty of sharp articles and propaganda slogans in the spirit of the turbulent times.
On the NLI website, "Historical Jewish Press", appear only the issues of "Cherut" that were published after the establishment of the state of Israel.
Enclosed: Leaflet, "The Menorah and the Shamash" (from an issue of "Cherut" from the 22nd of Tamuz 1948) about the Menorah in the emblem of the Irgun and the establishment of the state.
Number of pages varies, size varies (average length: 34 cm.). Condition varies, fair to good. In some of the issues, tears (restored), stains and creases, stamps.
Provenance: The Rimon Family Collection.
