CODY W. F.: (1846-1917) American Showman, known as Buffalo Bill. A very fine vintage signed cabinet photograph of Cody in a formal head and shoulders pose wearing a Stetson hat. Photograph by Gessford & Van Brunt of the Prince Studio, Union Square, New York, and bearing their imprint to the lower mount. Signed ('W F Cody, ''Buffalo Bill''') by Cody in bold, dark fountain pen ink to the lower photographer's mount. A few very minor traces of former mounting to the verso and some extremely light age wear, otherwise about EX £1500-2000
