Stepanov Alesei Stepanovich (1858, Simferopol - 1923, Moscow).
During 1880-1884 studied at Moscow School of Arts, Sculpture and Architecture under I.M. Pryanishnikov, graduated from the School with the big silver medal. Taught in the same place during 1899-1918, among his pupils were P.D.Korin, A.A.Plastov, L.V.Turzhansky. Member of the Association of Itinerant Exhibitions, a founder of the Union of Russian artists. Works of the artist are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum and in many other museum collections.
