This book is a play, which bases itself on Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice character Shylock, and transforms it to Palestine before the establishment of Israel. The play apparently takes place in the beginning of the 20th century.
The writer, Ali Ahmed Bakathir, divided his play into two plays, Al-Uqdah and Al-Hal; it deals with sale of lands to the Jews in Palestine. 164 pp.
Illustrated color cover, with Jewish Shylock holding a sword in one hand and a Human heart in the other.
Also a full page illustration inside the book, of Jewish Shylock holding a dagger against the chest of an Arab man, who opens his shirt, and presents his chest for the dagger.
Very good condition! Ex library copy with ink stamps and pocket.
