Rare Spice Tower. Germany, 18th Century
Silver spice container handcrafted by a silversmith in the late 18th century.
A typical architectrual spice tower made in Germany in that period.
The tower is decorated with a delicate engraving and quality sawing and hammering and is surrounded with 8 small silver flags.
The stem of the tower is sqaure and decorated with a delicate engraving. There is a 'smeared' hallmark on one of the sides, which cannot be identified. There is a wide railed 'balcony' at the top of the tower with flags at its four corners. There is a wide, rounded door in the center and above it a clock-like circle.
