ארתור שיק - היה אמן יהודי אמריקאי, שהתפרסם בסגנונו המאופיין באיורים צבעוניים.
שיק נולד בקיץ 1894 בעיר לודז' שבפולין הרוסית. למד אמנות בפריז, בקרקוב ותקופה קצרה בארץ ישראל.
במלחמת העולם הראשונה שירת בצבא הרוסי. במסגרת שירותו הצבאי הגיע עד מרכז רוסיה, ושם הייתה לו הזדמנות להתרשם מן האדריכלות המזרחית, מן הדגמים הקישוטיים ומן הצבעוניות שהיו אופייניים למקום. הוא הושפע גם מעיטור ספרים מימי הביניים ומכתבי יד פרסיים.
בשנת 1919 הוציא שיק את ספרו הראשון המאויר, שהיה סאטירה על המצב הפוליטי בגרמניה. בשנת 1921 עבר לפריז, שם הוציא את מגילת אסתר מאוירת וספרים נוספים. בשנת 1932 אייר את אמנת קאליש (המאה ה-14). באותה תקופה הציג מספר תערוכות, בהן לאיורים שערך לחבר הלאומים והוצג בז'נבה.
