"Description of the Patriotic war of 1812" was prepared by the military historian A. I. Mikhailovsky-Danilevsky by the highest order of Emperor Nicholas I. the Rescript was signed on February 24, 1836. And in 1838, at the end of the work, the author was awarded the order of the White eagle for the best work on this topic. The work was published in 1839, and a year later it was reprinted.
