Archimandrite Joseph (in the schema Hilarion, in the world Ivan Levitsky; 1831 — April 29, 1891, Athos) — Archimandrite, sacristan of the Moscow Patriarchal sacristy and Abbot of the Moscow Vysokopetrovsky monastery.

He graduated from the Seminary.

For some time he was sacristan of the Moscow Patriarchal sacristy, to the sights of which he dedicated several of his books. From the pen of which there were many pamphlets dedicated to the monuments of the Church history of Moscow.

From 1882 to 1884, he was Archimandrite of the Vysokopetrovsky monastery.

In 1884, he retired to mount Athos in the St. Andrew's Russian skete. Here he was tonsured in the schema with the name Hilarion, became a skete Confessor and remained so until his death in 1891. He was highly respected by the entire fraternity.
