Rabbi Shamuel Vital, (1598-1677) Was born in Damascus to his father Rabbi Chaim Vital, was a revered disciple of his father from whom he acquired Kabbalah of the Ari -zal and his manuscripts. He was known to be the one who copied and organized the manuscripts of his fathers and the Ari-zal with precision. The Chida attested in his sefer " Shem HaGedolim" that the sefarim of Rabbi Shamuel Vital are most reliable and very accurate to the manuscripts of Kabbalat H'Arizal. Rabbi Shamuel was Rav, Dayan, and great Rosh Yeshiva in Damascus, in his old age he moved to live in Cairo, Egypt where he passed away. Authored many sefarim in hidden and revealed Torah, among them many that were lost and have not been printed.
Moth holes, stained, fold marks, damaged corner, bottom of the letter is missing.
