A fancy silver Box for Etrog, decorated by hand, 925 silver, made in Mexico. Has a standard for closing the dish, 1940s. signed. From the estate of Rabbi Dr. Jacob Avigdor, the Rabbi who performed the marriage ceremony of Mr. Menachem Begin and his late wife in 1939 in the city of Drohovich, Poland. He served as the chief rabbi of Drohovich-Borislav and the chief rabbi of Mexican Jewry.
The rabbi was the Kiddoshin order of Menachem Begin and his late wife (Drohovich-1939).
During the Nazi occupation he was sent to the Plashów labor camp, and from there to the Buchenwald concentration camp. Many of his family members perished, including his wife and two daughters, and his brother, David Avigdor (Andrikhov's grandfather), and his wife. After the liberation, so that he could help save the Jews and rehabilitate them, he volunteered for the position of chaplain in the Polish army, and thus had the opportunity to move from camp to camp, by virtue of his position in the "Rescue Committee" he founded. He also founded a court to help women who were in dire straits as a result of the Holocaust.
Weight: 435.9 grams.
