Santini after D'Anville - Map of Eastern North America
This scarce map is by Paolo Santini and entitled "Partie méridionale de la Louisiane, avec la Floride, la Caroline et la Virginie." Santini drew inspiration from d'Anville's map. It was published in Venice in 1784 by Remonidini. The map was first published in 1776 absent of Remondini's address.
The map depicts most of Florida, the Natchitoches and Arkansas Rivers, the Mississippi River to the Ford de Chartres, Ohio River, Virginia, the Chesapeake, and most of Maryland. It also marks Indian Tribes, mountains, rivers, towns, and forts.
The work is in very good to excellent condition overall. There is some handling in the left and right margins. There may be a few minor imperfections to be expected with age. Please review the image carefully for condition and contact us with any questions.
