16th Century. Kuzari with Kol Yehudah Commentary - Venice, 1594

Sefer HaKuzari by Rabbi Yehuda HaLevi, with the Kol Yehudah commentary by Rabbi Yehuda Moscato of Mantua.

Sefer HaKuzari is one of the foundational works of Jewish thought, likely the most significant and well-known among them. Rabbi Yehuda HaLevi presents his philosophical and theological ideas in the form of a dialogue between the King of the Khazars and a Jew, discussing the superiority of Judaism over other faiths.
The Kol Yehudah commentary, authored by the renowned Rabbi Yehuda Moscato (also author of Nefutzot Yehudah), is the first printed commentary on Sefer HaKuzari.

Venice, 1594. First edition of the Kol Yehudah commentary.
299 leaves. Size: 20 cm.
Owner’s signatures. An early handwritten inscription of a dedication found on a synagogue wall in Brody.
Worn binding, minor stains, overall good condition.
