Sha'ar HaKavanot - Prayer
kavanot according to the Arizal and Rav Chaim Vital. The sixth 'sha'ar' of the Shemoneh Shearim of the Arizal, transcribed by his elite talmid, Rav Chaim Vital, with supplements from him and his colleagues. Copied and edited by his son, Rav Shmuel Vital.
This sha'ar includes the kabbalistic kavanot and angel names and other ideas that one should have in mind during the weekday, Shabbos, Yom Tov and Yomim Noraim prayers.
- The kavanot printed here were used by prominent mekubalim throughout the generations.
- Penciled owner note on the title page: שייך להה"ג מוהר"ר משה יוסף דיין מק"ק פאפא. This refers to Rav Moshe Yosef Hoffman of Papa, a great mekubel who merited to be visited by Eliyahu Hanavi.
- Glosses in various Sephardic hands, a number of glosses signed: חיי"א הי"ו.
