ספר תפארת ישראל, למהר"ל. ווארשא, תקצ"ו, 1835. העותק של רבי חיים ברלין.
בשער חתימת יד "חיים ברלין ב"ה נפתלי", עם שתי חותמות שלו.
רבי חיים ברלין זצ"ל [תקצ"ב-תרע"ג] מגדולי דורו ומדמויות ההוד של ליטא וירושלים. בנו הבכור של הנצי"ב מוואלוז'ין, היה רב במוסקבה, בוולאוז'ין, בקוברין ובסוף ימיו בירושלים. ת"ח מובהק שניחן באהבה גדולה לספרי קודש. אחיו הצעיר, ר' מאיר ברלין (בר אילן) כתב עליו: ''היה מחונן בחוש מפותח מאוד לביבליוגרפיה ורכש לו ספריה גדולה מאוד. אחת מן הספריות הפרטיות הגדולות ביותר בזמן ההוא. וכל אלפי הספרים, גדולים וקטנים, ישנים וחדשים, את כולם ידע יפה יפה. הוא עצמו היה כעין ספריה חיה'. בצוואתו הוריש את ספרייתו לישיבת 'עץ חיים'.
