Background: Rabbi Chaim Tzvi Hirsch Shapira [d. 11.07.1933] son of Rabbi Moshe Shmuel Shapira Av Beit Din of Bobroisk, son of Rabbi Aryeh Leib Shapira, Av Beit Din of Kovno [R' Leibele Kovner]. Rabbi Chaim Tzvi Hirsch was among the prominent rabbis in Belarus of his time, Av Beit Din of Lapitch [a suburb of Minsk] and served after his father in the rabbinate of Bobroisk. He published the responsa Beit Levi (Vilna 1913) from the writings of his uncle, Rabbi Levi Shapira, brother of the rosh yeshiva of Volozhin, Rabbi Refael Shapira. Rabbi Aryeh Levin (1885 - 1969) gaon and tzaddik among the magnificent personalities of Jerusalem, tremendous genius in all parts of the Torah and merciful father to all downtrodden, served as mashgiach in Yeshivat Etz Chaim, known as rabbi of the prisoners. He was the son-in-law of Rabbi David Shapira, grandson of Rabbi Aryeh Leib Shapira, Av Beit Din of Kovno.
Condition: Moderate-fine. Fold marks and tears along the entire length of the folds which cause wear on part of the letter, stains.
