Chamisha Chumshei Torah Ezrat HaSofer, Tikun Sofrim. Amsterdam, 1767-1769. Two title pages for each chumash; the first is a copperplate engraving and the second is a title page for the haftarot.
Five magnificent, leather bindings. Gilt cut leaves. Impressive gold embossing on each side of the binding with flowers, two cherubs holding a Torah crown and a gilt border. Owner name embossed in gold on each binding: יאקה כ"ה איצק לעוורדין סג"ל ז"ל. Deuteronomy bears an owner signature from 1859: אריה ליב בן כ"ה אלכסנדר יואנסין (?).

[4] Numbers. [2], [165]-221; [2], 17 leaves. [5]: Deuteronmy. [2], [223]-272, [1]; [3], 277-290, [8] leaves. Leaves 267-269 (Ha'azinu) are extra-large. The Haftora of Shabbat Eicha features Spanish translation (in Latin letters). Includes [8] leaves at the conclusion with tables for designating the months and holidays and reading the parshiot in Hebrew and a foreign language. Individual title page. 19 cm.
The set is in very fine condition. Rubbing and light cracks in the corners.
