Two books; section 1-2 and section 3-4 in one volume, with two title pages. 178, 120 pages. 30 cm.
Three lengthy comments signed שי"זי [Shlomo Yosef Zevin]. The book was printed without indexes, and Rabbi Shlomo Yosef Zevin wrote his own index to the responsa on the endpaper. Another leaf also bears his Torah novellae. His stamp from his term as Rabbi in Kazimirov, and more.
Rabbi Shlomo Yosef Zevin [1885-1978] was born in Kazimirov, near Pinsk and learned in the Mir Yeshiva. He was an outstanding Torah scholar who received rabbinical ordination from Rabbi Yosef Rosen [the Rogatchover]. He wrote many Torah books and articles. He was the first editor of the Encyclopedia Talmudist. He outlined its format and even wrote a list of all its entries. He was a member of the Chief Rabbinate and the first president of the "Committee of Chabad Rabbis in the Holy Land'.
