Eight letters, documents and signatures by Rabbi Zvi Pesach Frank, Rabbi of Jerusalem. Two letters written and signed by him, on his stationery. The other documents bear his signature. Various sizes, fine-very fine condition.
Rabbi Zvi Pesach Frank (1873-1960) was born in Kovno. He learned in Slobodka and Telz. In 1893, he immigrated to Eretz Yisrael and formed a close relationship with Rabbi Shmuel Salant. He studied in "Chatzer Strauss" and then in Yaffo, by Rabbi Kook. He served as dayan from a young age, and in 1918, he was appointed head of the Ashkenazic beis din of Jerusalem, a position he maintained for forty years. In 1958, he appointed Rabbi Eliyahu Re'em in his stead. When the Chief Rabbinate was formed he was appointed av"d and member of the Chief Rabbinate Council. When Rabbi Kook passed away, he was elected Rabbi of Jerusalem but refused to serve as Chief Rabbi of Israel. His works include: the "Har Zvi" series, "Shivivei Ohr" and "Mikraei Kodesh" regarding the holidays.
