An halakhic reply in the handwriting of Rabbi David Sperber, Head of the Beit Din of Brashov, author of the “Afarkasta D’Anya” responsa. All handwritten with his signature. 1929.
[2] pages. Letterhead paper. 23 x 29 Fold marks. Very fine condition.
A very long reply on the subject of the letter final “nun” in the verse “and Terach died in Haran” at the end of the Torah portion “Noah” in Genesis. At the end Rabbi Menachem Hager is mentioned…and his father, the great tzadik.
The Gaon of Brashov – the well-known Rabbi David Sperber, author of the “Afarkasta D’Anya” responsa, who was one of the great rabbis of Romania before the war, was a disciple of Rabbi Arik and Rabbi Moshe Hager of Kosov, who appointed him to edit his important book “Leket Ani.” He immigrated to Israel and was a member of the Council of Torah Sages until he died in 1962.
