Letter [postcard] from the Rabbi of Lakenbach to his friend Rabbi Yosef Schwartz, Rabbi of Bonyhad. In his hand and with his signature. 1912.
Postcard, 14x9 cm. Postmark from the 17th of October 1912.
The letter is written in Hebrew and relates to personal matters regarding Rabbi Krauss's family. Rabbi Yehuda Krauss was the son-in-law [in his first marriage] to Rabbi Moshe Halevi Levinger – Kamaran, Rabbi of Weitzen, disciple of the Chatam Sofer [Kinstlicher p. 352]. In his second marriage, he was son-in-law of Rabbi Adoniyahu Shmeltzer, [ibid, p. 501]. Rabbi Krauss was the father of Rabbi Moshe Aharon HaKohen Krauss, Rabbi of Banya. His other sons and son-in-laws were all prominent Hungarian rabbis and disciples of the "Shevet Sofer". [Ibid]. Refer to Otzar HaRabbanim 7094. Fine condition.
