Protocol of the assembly of the leaders of the Neitra community regarding building a mikveh, signed by the community leaders and authorized by Rabbi Shlomo Fleish, the Rabbi of Neitra. 1804.
[2] 31 x 22 Fold marks. Somewhat faded ink. Fine condition.
At the end of the protocol, the rabbi added two lines in handwriting and then signed his name. On the bottom of the page is a red wax seal that has been fully preserved in which is written “ A G-d Fearing Community of Israel – Kehilat Kodesh Neitra.”
Rabbi Shlomo Fleish was born in Nikolsberg in 1750. He was a disciple of Rabbi Gershon Chayut, Head of the Beit Din of Nikolsberg, who authorized him to serve as a dayan un his Beit Din. From 1800 he served as the rabbi of Neitra until his death in 1832. He communicated with the Chatam Sofer. His son was Rabbi Yozfe Fleish, Head of the Beit Din of Wasprin who was a student of the Chatam Sofer.
