Americana: Rare Documentation of Dozens of Jewish Donors from the United States. 1924-1926
Binder with over [500] leaves, with lengthy notations of Jewish donors from the United States, for Kupat Rabi Meir Ba'al HaNes - the central charity fund for residents of the Land of Israel. [1924-1926]. Hebrew and some English.
These lists include names of tens of thousands of Jewish people and institutions who made donations to this important institution. This is first-rate historic documentation (possibly one-of-a-kind) of the American population during this period.
The states, cities and neighborhoods where donations were collected include: New York - Manhattan, Bronx, Coney Island; Texas - Brownsville; New Jersey - Paterson; Ohio - Cleveland, and more.
The emissaries and those who collected donations include: Segal, Chartcki, Perlow, Leibowitz, Abramowitz, Groner, Langsner, Green, Sanders, Rottenstein, Jaffe, Weidman, Rivlin, Blumrad and others.
Total of over [500] leaves. Some are handwritten, some are copies and some are printed. Various sizes.
Overall fine condition. Light tears in the margins of some of the leaves.
