Handwritten notation by Rabbi Shmuel Jaffe Margaliot on the flyleaf indicating that the book had belonged to his father: "Belonging to my father, my teacher, the gaon Rabbi Yehudah Margaliot Jaffe, Av Beit Din of Rogendorf" with the gaon Rabbi Shmuel Jaffe Margaliot's owner's stamp.

The book was brought to print by the author's grandsons. With an approbation by the author of Shoel U'Meishiv, Rabbi Yosef Shaul Notenhausen, noting: "They have decided print responsa by my grandfather, rabbi of the entire diaspora, minister of the Torah, the Maharsha"l, ztzuk"l."

Rabbi Shmuel Jaffe Margaliot Schlesinger [1881-1938] was born to his father Rabbi Moshe Leib Yosef Jaffe Margaliot Schlesinger, rabbi of Ragendorf, author of Mili D'Avot. He received rabbinic ordination from his grandfather Rabbi Yaakov Koppel Reich of Budapest. He served as Av Beit Din of Aranyash-Marotta beginning in 1907. He was a disciple of the author of Shevet Sofer and of the author of Da'at Sofer.
