Elegant Manuscript – Reshut U’Semicha L’Shochtim – [Italy, 17th/18th Century]
A draft of a Semicha document for the beloved brothers, Eliyah and Mattityah, sons of Rabbi Yosef, of blessed memory, granting them authorization to perform shechitah (ritual slaughter), inspect, and certify livestock and poultry for themselves and for others.
At the end of the authorization document, the name of the issuing authority is signed:
"The young Elchanan, son of the honorable Rabbi Moshe, of blessed memory."
Details:
Double-leaf manuscript, with two written pages.
Margins contain corrections in pencil.
Size: Approximately 19 × 27.5 cm.
