Hakadama VeDerech LeEtz HaChaim – A Distinguished Copy
Hakadama VeDerech LeEtz HaChaim, also titled Sur MeRa VeAseh Tov, by Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch of Ziditshov, with glosses and additions by Rabbi Tzvi Elimelech of Dinov. Przemyśl, 5653 [1893].
On the title page: The stamp of Rabbi Yechezkel Panet of Dej.
Moderate condition. Stains.
The Admor Rabbi Yechezkel Panet, Av Beit Din of Dej [1870-1930], was one of the great tzaddikim of Hungary in his generation. He served as rabbi in the towns of Aharishar and Maros-Ujvar, and in 5663 [1903] he succeeded his forefathers as the rabbi of the city of Dej. He was the grandson and disciple of the Admor, author of Ma'aglei Tzedek of Dej.
He was a miracle worker who brought salvation through his prayers, as recorded: "Thousands of Jews were saved through his holy prayers. Many things that were naturally impossible happened miraculously, all due to his immense holiness and sacred prayers." (Kol Bochim, Dej, 1930, p. 9).
His Torah teachings were published in Knesset Yechezkel.
(For more about him, see: Alfasi, Chassidut, Vol. 2, pp. 174-175).
