"And Hashem shall provide him with good livelihood" – A Letter of Blessings from the "Performer of Miracles" of Bohush

A letter filled with abundant blessings—for joy, sustenance, and the fulfillment of all heartfelt desires! Written by the renowned miracle worker, the holy Rabbi Yitzchak Friedman of Bohush, on an auspicious date, on his official letterhead, with his sacred signature. Tel Aviv, 4th of Nissan, 5725 [1965].

The letter is addressed to the Rebbe’s relative, the esteemed Chassidic author, Rabbi Menachem Gutman, author of Otzar Aggadot HaChassidim (Jerusalem, 5730–5742 [1970–1982]). Due to their familial connection and the esteemed character of the recipient, the Rebbe showers him with abundant blessings.

"And I bless him… with joy and gladness, and may Hashem provide him with good livelihood, and he shall be blessed with salvation in body and soul. May all his heartfelt wishes be fulfilled for good at all times, and a kosher and joyous festival. His dear friend, sending warm regards and remembering him for the best."

The letter also discusses financial transfers from the Rebbe to the Chassid—an act that itself holds significance as a channel of blessing and influence for sustenance.

The Rebbe’s powerful blessings are given in the month of Nissan, about which it is said in the Yotzrot: "The month in which salvations surround us." Nissan is considered the most auspicious month of the year.

[1] Sheet of paper. 14X22 cm. The Rebbe’s personal letterhead, signed in his holy handwriting.
Condition: Good–very good. Fold marks.

Biographical Notes
The holy Rabbi Yitzchak Friedman of Bohush (5663–5752 [1903–1992]) was the son of Rabbi Shalom Yosef of Shpykov and the son-in-law of his uncle, Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Bohush. From 5690 [1930], he served as the Rebbe of Bohush and was one of the most revered figures among Romanian Jewry. He presided over Kollel Romania. In 5711 [1951], he immigrated to Eretz Yisrael, establishing his Beit Midrash in Tel Aviv, and in 5747 [1987], he relocated to Bnei Brak.

The Rebbe was known as one of the greatest miracle workers (poalei yeshuot) of his generation, and divine inspiration (ruach hakodesh) was evident in his words. Many were healed from illness, barren women were blessed with children, and those in distress found salvation through his prayers. His eyes, clear and luminous like a crystal, could see far and deep, and his responses were as clear as the Urim VeTummim.

People witnessed how he directed his thoughts and meditations toward lofty and mystical unifications, deeply rooted in the sacred writings of the Arizal, which he received as an inheritance from his holy forefathers. He would pronounce the Divine Names in a hidden and wondrous melody. His Kiddush on Friday night was a sacred avodah in itself—holding the cup in trembling awe, his face glowing, his eyes fixed on the heavens, and his lips aflame with holy devotion. Those present at the tish could visibly see how the wine in the cup would bubble and boil.

Renowned as a wondrous tzaddik, thousands flocked to his doors for blessings and salvations. Even in his old age, his countenance remained smooth like that of a child. Zecher tzaddik livracha.
