The front flyleaf contains multiple ownership inscriptions from members of the Satmar community.

About the Author
Rabbi David Schlissel, Av Beit Din of Munkatch (5624–5700 [1864–1940]), was held in high esteem from infancy. At his Brit Milah, his sandek and mohel was none other than Maran the "Divrei Chaim" of Sanz, who, without consulting the baby's father, named him "David", saying:
"David is the youngest, and with G-d’s help, he will become great in Israel."

Indeed, the child grew into an exceptional Torah prodigy, known as "David Ha'ilui" (David the prodigy). He remained dear to the Divrei Chaim throughout the latter's life. Rabbi David Schlissel served as Dayan in Zabarov and later as Av Beit Din and Rosh Yeshiva in Munkatch.
